At 4 Heaven’s cakes we make each order as close as possible to the function date to ensure that the cake is always at its freshest. The cake can be made in a variety of different flavours. As a qualified chef, Lize will also be happy to help with any other flavour you might want.
We will try our best to give you your dream cake for your special day. We strive to accommodate every idea or budget.
As all the cakes are individually priced due to the different combinations, it is always best to make an appointment to see Lize for your personalised design and quotation.
4 Heaven’s Cakes also delivers the cakes to the venue. If the cakes have to travel far, they are boxed carefully and explanations are given for assembly.
4 Heaven’s Cakes is owned and run by Lize van Rooyen.
Lize’s passion for cake decorating started at a very young age fuelled by the beautiful cakes her parents made her and her siblings.
After school she completed a Diploma in Cooking and Baking at The Institute for the Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch. This was followed by her working in various establishments through-out South Africa specializing in pastry.
In 2007 Lize started lessons in Cake Decorating from one of the South African Cake Decorator’s Guild Members. She also regularly attended demonstrations and short courses at the FBI School of Pastry.
In 2008 Lize moved to the UK and worked as a freelance chef working in places like The Waldorf, The Landmark Hotel and as private chef to the prime minister of Kuwait.
In 2009 she started working for David Duncan at 3D Cakes in Edinburgh, Scotland. David and his team won the Prestigious VOWS award 2 years running (2008 & 2009) – the first Wedding Cake Designer in Scotland to receive that honour.
At the end of 2009 Lize returned to South Africa and opened 4 Heaven’s Cakes.
Lize loves decorating cakes and meeting with happy couples and helping them realise the Wedding Cake that makes their dream day extra special.
For her the best feeling in the world is seeing the look on a little child’s face when they realise that their cake looks just like their favourite TV character.
